چکیده

It is shown that in N ≃ Z nuclei the effects of isovector pairing and the symmetry energy are intimately related. In particular, in the odd-odd N = Z nuclei these two effect are essentially equal in magnitude, causing near degeneracy of the lowest T = 1 and T = 0 states and appearance of the T = 1 ground state isospin in many such nuclei. To illustrate the validity of the considerations presented, it is shown that the global symmetry energy fit can be reproduced using just the excitation energies of the lowest T = 3/2 states in N = Z + 1 nuclei. Similarly, the global pairing gap fit can be related to the excitation energy of the T = |N − Z|/2 + 1 states in N ≃ Z nuclei.

We use the Quasiparticle Random Phase Approximation to include the effects of low-lying Gamow-Teller and first forbidden strength in neutrino capture by very neutron-rich nuclei with N = 50, 82, or 126. For electron neutrinos in what is currently considered the most likely r-process site the capture cross sections are two or more times previous estimates. We briefly discuss the reliability of o...

Proton-neutron (p − n) interactions and their various aspects in N ≈ Z nuclei of g 9/2-and f 7/2 subshell are studied using a schematic model interaction with four force parameters proposed recently. It is shown that the model interaction well reproduces observed physical quantities: the double differences of binding energies, symmetry energy, Wigner energy, odd-even mass difference and separat...

We study the hyperfine splitting of an electron in hydrogen-like 209 Bi 82+. It is found that the hfs energy splitting can be explained well by considering the g-factor reduction due to the binding effect of a bound electron. We determine for the first time the experimental value of the magnetic moment of a tightly bound electron.
